X Factor return for Tulisa? Simon Cowell says she ‘has a lot of opportunities ahead of her’

Tulisa Contostavlos, 26, who was dropped from her position as an X Factor judge (pictured) two years ago, is set to make a comeback on the hit talent show, according to the Sunday People.

The publication reports that X Factor boss Simon Cowell was impressed with the way that Tulisa handled herself throughout her recent trial, in which she was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A substances, which came about after an undercover sting by a Sun reporter. The trial collapsed after the judge ruled that a witness had lied under oath.

“Tulisa’s been through a rough time and has come through it. I think she deserves a break now. I think she’s got a lot of opportunities ahead of her,” said Simon.

X Factor judge Louis Walsh is said to be eager to have Tulisa return to the show as a mentor for his acts during the judges’ houses stage of the competition.

He told the Sunday tabloid: “I have spoken to Tulisa. I totally support her. I spent so much time in her dressing room, I know who the real Tulisa is. She’s not Mother Theresa but she’s a lovely girl.

“She’s rough around the edges but she’s a good girl. I like her. I definitely would have her at judges’ houses. She’ll bounce back. She’s a tough lady and she’s made it this far on her own.

“My advice would be to make a great record. Solo or group? She can do both.”

The new series of The X Factor is due to return to ITV this autumn.
