Carla and Peter are back from Carlisle
Carla Connor will next week be back in Coronation Street for the first time since she suffered a mental health collapse.
Last month the troubled factory boss, played by Alison King, publicly broke down on the cobbles. Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) found her at the top of the Victoria Street fire escape talking to her late loved ones, including Aidan (Shayne Ward), who took his own life last year.
Peter helped Carla to get through her disturbing visions and doctors then managed to get Carla a place in a specialist unit in Carlisle.
Realising she might need his support during her treatment, Peter also went along with her to the unit. But now Coronation Street’s official website has revealed that the pair will be back on the cobbles next week.
Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) will announce the surprise news that Carla is returning to the factory workers.
An early release teaser picture also shows a concerned looking Peter chatting to Carla. “Later, Peter worries as Carla returns to the Street. Will she be okay,” teases the soap.
Can Carla cope? Will she get more dark visions? And does Peter need to worry as much?
Alison King previously spoke about the storyline, saying: “She is in a very dangerous predicament and unrecognisable to Peter, who is desperate to rescue her.”
Coronation Street continues on ITV tonight at 7.30pm.
