The Best Animated Film of 2013 | Shortlist No 6 – Frozen

We want you to tell us which was 2013′s best animated film – and help decide the winner of the Animation category in this year’s Richard Attenborough Film Awards. You can cast your vote on the Movie Preview Network website but to help you make up your mind we’re posting brief reviews of the 10 nominated films. Next up is Frozen.

Disney’s super-cool new cartoon fantasy feature follows in the footsteps of the wildly successful Tangled to reboot (ie: completely overhaul) Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen. Actually, apart from all the snow action, this doesn’t bear much relation to the original fairy tale. But no worries, some catchy singalong songs by the duo behind Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon, Josh Gad’s hilarious talking snowman Olaf and the pacy quest story about two sisters – one good and one misunderstood – trying to save their kingdom from an eternal snow day mean it doesn’t lose anything in the translation. Enjoy!

Here’s the shortlist, with our potted intros to jog your memory.
