Shock attack in Neighbours throws THIS Ramsay Street family into chaos

Shane just can't stop standing up for Mackenzie in Neighbours...

Today’s Neighbours sees Mackenzie continue to find herself targeted by narrow-minded students at school… but while she has learnt to turn a blind eye to the bullying, it’s all getting too much for Shane.

After telling the Rebecchi family about her transgender journey, Mackenzie has been welcomed into their family fold. But as Shane continues to fight her corner, even wife Dipi has started to question his unwavering support.

After some graffiti on the school toilets and a note in her locker that told Mackenzie that she shouldn’t be allowed to use the girls facilities, the police were called to Erinsborough High to find out who is sending the sicking threats.

But while Susan tells Mackenzie that she should use the disabled toilets for the time being for her own safety, no one agrees with the principle’s decision and the girls of the school stand in support of Mackenzie and all vow to also only use the disabled toilets.

However seeing as Shane isn’t Mackenzie’s father, or even her legal guardian, Susan refuses to talk details with him and he is left to slink off home.

But when Dipi finds out that Shane has been to the school, she questions why her husband is so invested in this teenage girl they haven’t seen for years.

While Shane can’t answer Dipi’s questions, it seems her suggestion that he is too invested in the Ramsay Street newcomer falls on deaf ears, because later he gets himself into even more trouble on Mackenzie’s behalf.

When a bully targets Mackenzie outside Harolds, Shane can’t take it any longer and snaps at the school boy, grabbing him by the throat and lashing out.

But as everyone looks on horrified, it seems he might have just made things worse for Mackenzie rather than better.

Why is Shane so determined to fight Mackenzie’s battles? Is there more to his over-protective behaviour than he is letting on?
