EastEnders star Pam St. Clement returns to Casualty. Could she hold the key to helping David?
Pam St. Clement will forever be known for her role as Pat Butcher in EastEnders. But Pam’s reappearance as Sally Hodge in Casualty this weekend is memorable in its own way – not least for Sally’s encounters with desperately ill David…
Viewers first met Sally when she appeared in the 30th Anniversary of Casualty last August. At the time, Sally gave Casualty superstar Charlie Fairhead (Derek Thompson) hell for leather.
Sally’s appearance this week, however, is mired in tragedy. The reclusive pensioner ends up in the ED after her car causes an inferno that could be fatal for a helpful passerby. And, for some reason, bipolar and ill, David (Jason Durr) has taken an instant shine to her.
With the ED in chaos, we see a softer side to Sally, who seems to be one of the few people who not only sees how strangely nurse David Hide is acting, but can connect with him too. Could Sally be David’s unlikely saviour in his time of need?
Meanwhile, Sally’s harbouring a secret pain about her own health. Will she let her robust guard down long enough to let Charlie help her?
