The actor has split from his artist girlfriend, Nettie Wakefield, following a six month romance.
Fans of period drama hunk Aidan Turner might be thrilled to hear this latest news about the star, but for the actor it’s a difficult and emotional time.
It’s been revealed that the Poldark star is single again.
The Sun reports that actor Aidan Turner split from his girlfriend Nettie Wakefield because of their conflicting work schedules.
The 33-year-old had only been with Nettie for six months, but the strain of their busy schedules proved too much.
A source told the paper: ‘Things were great for a time and they were getting serious – but it just wasn’t to be and busy schedules drove them apart.
‘They’ve drifted and things have cooled off but there are no hard feelings. Aidan’s incredibly busy with his career and Nettie’s art is really taking off so they had a lot on their plates.’
Series three of Poldark will return to screens on 11 June BBC1 at 9pm.
According to reports the show was meant to air in the autumn but it was brought forward to stop it from clashing with the BBC’s other hit costume drama, Victoria.
The third series will run for nine-weeks which is one episode less than series two. Aiden Turner will once again be joined on screen by Eleanor Tomilson who plays Poldark’s wife Demelza, and Jack Farthing who plays George Warleggan. There are also several new faces joining the cast. Josh Whitehouse from Northern Soul will star as aristocrat Hugh Armitage and Tom York from Olympus will star as one of Demelza’s brothers Sam. Her other handsome brother Drake will be played by Harry Richardson.
The latest series is set to be as thrilling as the previous ones. The new characters will bring a new dynamic to the show. Debbie Horsefield, the shows’ writer, has promised viewers ‘a rollercoaster ride where the stakes have never been higher’. Will you be tuning in?
