Red Dwarf to return next year with first ever feature-length special – here’s how you could be in the audience!

The boys from the Dwarf are back...

Hit space comedy Red Dwarf will return to Dave next year for its first ever feature-length special.

The two-hour show will see Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules and Robert Llewellyn back as Lister, Rimmer, The Cat and Kryten.

And from 12pm today you can apply here for audience tickets.

Craig Charles said: “I’m really excited to get back on board with the boys from the Dwarf. I can’t wait to discuss Robert’s prostate problems, Chris Barrie’s hip replacement and have a proper look at Danny’s new dentures whilst they marvel at the agelessness of the Charles physique. I will surely require the services of a chiropractor after dragging these doddering misfits through what promises to be our most epic adventure yet.”

The all-new story is written and directed by series co-creator Doug Naylor.

Doug said: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity of making more Red Dwarf. UKTV has been a never-ending source of support and encouragement since we first started working together ten years ago.

“Can’t wait to start shooting a format that I don’t think has ever been done before. Smoke me a kipper, we’re back and not just for breakfast.”

In more good news for Red Dwarf fans, Dave has ordered three specials which will look back at the history of the series, which first aired in 1988. The three one-hour retrospectives will include previously un-broadcasted material and interviews with the cast and crew.

Of course Red Dwarf had a long break from our screens before Dave brought it back in 2009. While the most recent run, series XII, went out in 2017, so fans are no doubt hungry for more madcap space action!

Red Dwarf will return to our screens in 2020 for a feature-length episode.
