I’m A Celebrity 2020 start date officially confirmed at last

I'm A Celebrity now has an official start date and time!

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is one of the most anticipated shows of the year… and at last the wait for the new series is almost over.

ITV has officially confirmed that the 2020 series will start on Sunday 15th November at 9pm.

The broadcaster broke the news that the new series is fast approaching on twitter. Referencing the fact that the new series is in a Welsh castle, rather than Australia, the tweet declared: “The Castle countdown is on!”

But while the next series isn’t far off, the celebrity contestants taking part are still to be officially announced. However, that hasn’t stopped lots of rumours and among the stars expected to take part are soap stars Shane Richie and Beverley Callard.

New series with a new look

Fans of I’m A Celebrity will already know that this series is going to look a little different to previous years.

Instead of being set in the Australian jungle, the show has been relocated to Gwrych Castle in Abergele in North Wales due to current travel restrictions.

The new trailers

ITV has released a string of new trailers for the show, which revolve around the theme of Ant and Dec being confused by the fact they’re in Wales rather than Australia!

The latest sees the boys arrive at a cafe…

Dec declares: “This looks like the perfect place to get some authentic Aussie tucker.” While Ant goes to the waitress: “G’day Sheila! Throw a couple of shrimps on the barbie would ua!”

Dec replies: “You can’t have barbecued shrimp here Ant they haven’t lit the barbecue yet.”

Dec is then baffled when he sees Welsh cakes on the menu!

With series 20 about to hit our screens, it remains to be seen who might be taking over as Jungle King or Queen (or should that be Castle King or Queen?!) from last year’s winner.

2019 saw former EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa crowned winner after she made it to the final alongside radio DJ Roman Kemp and Coronation Street favourite Andy Whyment.

And fans are of course waiting to see how the new format for the show will affect the celebrity contestants. One thing is clear they’re going to be a lot colder than normal!
