Gary Barlow has assembled a team of England football legends plus some pop star friends to record a video for the official England World Cup song for Sport Relief.
Gary’s song and video will be premiered as part of BBC1’s Sport Relief night on Friday, March 21.
Pop stars taking part are Emma Bunton, Mel C, Eliza Doolittle, Pixie Lott, Katy B and Kimberley Walsh. Performing alongside them are legendary World Cup footballers including Gary Lineker, Glenn Hoddle, Sir Geoff Hurst, Martin Keown, Michael Owen, David Seaman and Peter Shilton.
The video was filmed at the world-famous Sarm Studios in west London, where the 1984 Band Aid single was recorded.
Written by former X Factor judge Gary, and with the group led out by England’s former star striker Gary Lineker, the song and video should help give the England team a big boost before their bid for glory in Brazil this summer.
The song will be available to download on iTunes even though the single won’t be released until nearer the start of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
