Football is to blame!
Emmerdale fans tuning in next Tuesday for the latest action from the dales will be distressed to find it’s not on!
Yep, ITV has cleared the soap from its normal Tuesday slot next week to make way for England’s Euro 2020 football qualifying clash against Kosovo.
The ITV schedule for Tuesday 10th September looks like this: 7pm Football: England v Kosovo; 10pm News, 10.30pm Local News and 10.45 Football highlights.
It means that there are just five episodes of Emmerdale next week. And it’s far from the first time this year that sport has caused trouble for soap fans.
Over the summer EastEnders was moved about in the schedules so the BBC could find a space for the Women’s World Cup.
Holby City suffered the indignity of being moved from its normal Tuesday slot back in June so the BBC could screen the Tory leadership debate.
Next week will be a dramatic one in Emmerdale, with Monday’s episode, going out at 7pm, seeing Tracy lock Dawn up in the church as she makes a string of accusations. Wednesday’s 7pm Emmerdale will see Jessie’s ex Al pushing Marlon’s buttons as he makes fresh trouble for their marriage.
And things go from bad to worse for the marriage on Thursday – which features two episodes at 7pm and 8pm – when Jessie kisses Al.
While Friday’s 7pm episode will see Moira do some serious thinking as she ponders whether to choose husband Cain or lover Nate?
Emmerdale continues on ITV.
