How to watch England’s Cricket World Cup final live for FREE!

Here’s how to make sure you don’t miss a ball of the massive game at Lord’s…

Sunday’s Cricket World Cup final between England and New Zealand will be shown free-to-air on Channel 4 and More 4.

Rights-holder Sky, who will also be showing the game at Lord’s on Sky Sports and Sky One, have agreed to a deal with Channel 4, who’ve radically shaken up their schedule to make space for it.

Channel 4 will show the final from 9am before its coverage switches to More 4 at 1.15pm while the British Grand Prix is on Channel 4. After the Grand Prix finishes, the cricket will be back on Channel 4.

England booked their place in the Lord’s final with a superb win at Edgbaston against old foes Australia. The England bowlers blew away the Australian top order, before the batsman, spearheaded by a rampant Jason Roy, easily chased down the Aussie total.

Now, England cricket fans will get to watch a match on free-to-air television for the first time since England’s heroic Ashes victory over Australia in 2005.

Former England captain Alastair Cook expressed his delight on BBC Radio 5 Live that the game was going to be available for all.

“It’s a once on a lifetime opportunity for these players to play in a home World Cup and to have this opportunity to put it on free-to-air, so hopefully many more millions of people can watch it and hopefully see an England win. It can inspire the next generation.

“If they win the World Cup, the first 50-over tournament England have ever won, it can only be a good thing for cricket.”

England last reached the Cricket World Cup final in 1992, where they were beaten by Pakistan. Meanwhile, New Zealand were defeated in the last Cricket World Cup final by Australia in 2015. Neither finalist on Sunday has ever won the tournament.
