Kris would do a cameo as Humphrey...
Death in Paradise star Kris Marshall has revealed that he’d be up for making a cameo return to the show as DI Humphrey Goodman.
The 46-year-old actor played affable Humphrey for three years on the BBC1 hit, with his first case being solving the murder of his predecessor, DI Richard Poole (played by Ben Miller).
Kris is now about to be seen in ITV’s big new costume drama Sanditon and Digital Spy reports that at a recent press event for the Jane Austen adaptation he revealed that he’d consider a brief return to Death in Paradise.
“Would I do a cameo? Would I go back, and do a cameo in Death in Paradise? Unequivocally yes,” revealed Chris, in a quote that will thrill fans.
Humphrey of course is alive and well in the show after eventually leaving the delights of Saint Marie when he found love again with Martha in London.
However, perhaps Humphrey and his successor, DI Jack Mooney (Ardal O’Hanlon), could hook up on a case?
Meanwhile, Kris has spoken to TV Times about his character Tom Parker in Sanditon. “He’s a visionary and an entrepreneur,” he revels. “He’s also a family man with four kids, but it doesn’t stop him taking risks.”
And Kris said filming on beaches in the UK for Sanditon was quite a different experience to filming on beaches in the Caribbean for Death in Paradise!
“We shot the beach scenes for episode one in Somerset and I was naked! It was very cold, so hugely different from filming in the Caribbean.”
Death in Paradise, starring Ardal O’Hanlon, will return on BBC1 next year. Sanditon, featuring Kris, will begin on ITV at 9pm this Sunday.
