Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine is teaming-up with presenter Rylan Clark-Neal for ITV 2's reboot of gameshow Supermarket Sweep!
Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine is back on our screens tonight (ITV, 7:30pm/8:30pm), when her character Fiz Brown returns to Weatherfield, following Jennie’s real-life maternity leave from the soap.
But that’s not all. Jennie has announced she also has a NEW role rockin’ the mic (aka the tannoy) on ITV 2’s forthcoming reboot of gameshow, Supermarket Sweep!
The popular gameshow originally ran on ITV from 1993 to 2007 and was presented by the late Dale Winton.
Rylan Clark-Neal is taking over presenting duties for the 2019 version of Supermarket Sweep, and Jennie couldn’t be happier to be joining him for plenty of gameshow fun in the aisles!
Meanwhile, back in Coronation Street, Fiz returns home a day earlier than planned to surprise her fella Tyrone Dobbs (played by Alan Halsall). She temporarily relocated to Birmingham with their daughter Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) who needed help because of her bad behaviour.
However, Fiz is not impressed when she walks straight into a “siege” situation and discovers Tyrone’s bossy boots grandmother Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) has barricaded herself, Tyrone and Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) in the office at Bessie Street School, until headmistress Melinda Calvert (Janet Dibley) agrees to let Hope back to the school!
Welcome home, Fiz!
The new series of Supermarket Sweep begins Monday 9th September at 8:00pm on ITV2
