From Weatherfield to the jungle!
Coronation Street fans were gutted when Andrew Whyment, aka Kirk Sutherland, appeared to be missing out on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! – but now it’s been claimed that the star will be a surprise addition to the ITV hit.
The 38-year-old actor has long been tipped to part of this year’s show, however, there was despair amongst Corrie viewers when the line-up was announced and there was no sign of Andrew!
However, The Sun reports that Andrew and another surprise camper will be sent into this year’s I’m A Celebrity.
Noel Edmonds was jetted out to Australia as a latecomer to last year’s I’m A Celebrity only for him to be voted off the show at the first hurdle.
Andrew, of course, will be hoping to fair a lot better than Noel and with the support of Coronation Street viewers he’s sure to do well.
Amazingly, despite not officially being on I’m A Celebrity, Andrew is already among the favourites to win the series with the bookies.
Footballer Ian Wright is the current favourite to be crowned king of the jungle, with rugby star James Haskell and DJ Roman Kemp also among the front runners.
The official line-up so far for this year’s I’m A Celebrity is Ian Wright, Roman Kemp, James Haskell, Nadine Coyle, Myles Stephenson, Adele Roberts, Andrew Maxwell, Jacqueline Jossa, Caitlyn Jenner and Kate Garraway.
If Andrew and the other surprise camper are confirmed, that would make a line-up of 12 stars for this year’s I’m A Celebrity – one more than last year.
So, the big question is can Andrew become the first ever Coronation Street star to win I’m A Celebrity?
