These scenes proved emotional for fans
Casualty fans have had an emotional reaction after Dylan Keogh hit a new low in his battle with alcoholism.
On Saturday night’s show Dylan (William Beck) took a huge risk by attempting a life-or-death procedure on a patient despite being hungover from a boozy evening out, with only Louise (Azuka Oforka) aware of the true extent of his worrying state.
After an accusation about him being under the influence was made to acting clinical lead Ethan Hardy (George Rainsford), Dylan was in denial but the death of a patient caused him to have a rethink.
Eventually the doctor decided to take time off and nervously headed to a support group, which he at first turned away from before heading back.
Viewers were left on a cliff-hanger as to whether he did go through the door to the meeting and many spoke of their sadness at seeing Dylan go through such a difficult time.
‘Heartbreaking & can’t cope seeing Dylan so drunk & in such a state risking his whole career #Casualty,’ one fan wrote on Twitter, whilst another said: ‘#Casualty aww poor dylan.someone help him’
Meanwhile one posted: ‘Dylan is breaking my heart, William Beck’s performance tonight has been absolutely fantastic! #Casualty’
Several praised Dylan for trying to seek help towards the end of the episode whilst others have hailed actor William Beck for his moving performance.
‘And that’s why William Beck deserves to be nominated for awards, brilliant performance yet again! #Casualty,’ one viewer tweeted.
With Dylan now set to take some time out to work through his problems, viewers are already looking forward to welcoming him back.
Meanwhile it looks like things will be just as dramatic at the ED without him, with a new preview clip of next weekend’s episode hinting that Ethan is facing problems managing the department in his new role…
We can’t wait to see what happens…
