As the drama continues, the dodgy associates of Liberal leader Jeremy Thorpe thought they’d found just the right person to bump off his troublesome ex-lover
Hiring a hitman can be a tricky business, but in 1975, the dodgy associates of Liberal leader Jeremy Thorpe thought they’d found just the right one to bump off his troublesome ex-lover Norman Scott.
It proved unwise, however, to hire former pilot Andrew Newton, who turned out to be a drunk and a fantasist.
It’s quite apt that it’s an Inbetweeners star, Blake Harrison, playing the hapless Newton – the mission is a total comedy of errors!
Michele Dotrice joins the cast as Norman’s landlady, the wonderfully named Edna Friendship (whose evidence helped police nail Newton) in an action-packed episode that may well leave you bewildered when you consider this plan was hatched by seemingly intelligent men!
