Laura Whitmore will co-host BBC Three’s coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals.
The I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Now! presenter will join forces with Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills to present the channel’s coverage of the semi-finals in Copenhagen, Denmark, reported the Daily Mirror.
Laura said: “I am going to be in Copenhagen doing some bits for BBC Three for Eurovision so that will be pretty cool. It’s a tough life!”
She is taking over from Scissor Sisters star Ana Matronic, who has chosen to pull out from the role because she is touring in May.
Scott – who has been presenting BBC Three’s coverage since 2011 – is looking forwrd to showing Laura the ropes during their ‘fun and surreal’ week.
“I’m very excited to be presenting with Laura and showing her Eurovision for the first time,” he said, adding: “She has no idea what she’s let herself in for. It’s the most fun and surreal week ever.”
The Eurovision semi-finals take place the week before the BBC One’s TV final on May 10, which will continue to be hosted by Graham Norton.
The UK, which has a guaranteed place in the final as one of the main funders of the event, will be represented by Leicester-born singer Molly Smitten-Downes.
