Simon Gregson has tweeted an X-ray of the shoulder injury that has again ruled him out of Corrie after he’d just return from a long lay-off due to stress-related problems.
Simon, 41, is believed to have suffered the injury while he was playing with his sons, Alfie, eight, and Harry, six. The X-ray appears to show a clear break at the point of his shoulder.
The star tweeted an image of the X-ray and wrote cryptically: “Remember when you just used to get a graze a plaster and rub on the head. It’s not age it’s science.”
Simon took an extended break from Corrie in September 2015, during which time his wife, Emma, gave birth to another son, Teddy. He has been candid in the past that he, like his character Steve McDonald, has suffered bouts of depression.
A source told The Sun: “This is the last thing he wanted after such a long time away from work. He was looking forward to getting stuck into his storylines again.
“He’s annoyed he needs surgery. But it’s a sore one and he’s going to rest up before heading back to work. Because it’s a shorter spell away it won’t give bosses such a big headache rewriting scenes. But it’s still bad luck.”
A Corrie spokesperson said: “Simon will hopefully be back within a fortnight.”
