Fiz’s life of highs and lows is about to crash to an all-time low when Hope is diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a very aggressive form of cancer.
In heartbreaking scenes, to be aired later this year, viewers will see little Hope be diagnosed with the disease.
“These will be some of the most heart-wrenching scenes ever seen on the show,” a Corrie source told The Mirror.
Like her mum, Hope’s young life has already been full of drama… She was born three months prematurely, in December 2010, when Fiz was injured during the big tram crash. The following month, Fiz was told Hope had a hole in her heart. Then, in June 2011, Hope was kidnapped by her killer father John Stape (Graeme Hawley) and rescued by Fiz, in dramatic scenes on a hospital rooftop.
Can Hope be saved this time?
Coronation Street continues on ITV, Monday, June 29, 7.30pm.
