Corrie star Faye Brookes is determined to live each day to the full after being close to the explosion that killed 22 people on May 22 in Manchester
The star, who plays Kate Connor, in the ITV soap said the horrifying experience had left her ‘numb’ but determined to live every day to its fullest.
She told What’s on TV at the British Soap Awards: “I was there. I was at the concert myself so yes, it’s had a significant impact on my life. Completely changed my perspective actually. I feel so blessed and so grateful, I’m not wasting any time, I’m just living life.”
Faye said she was going to definitely get the bee tattoo, the image which has come to symbolise the lives lost and the unity of Manchester.
“I’m getting it to commemorate the 22 souls that we lost that evening because I feel very lucky that I’m here today… There is something about Manchester that is very special and significant and after that, I know it sounds awful, but something so tragic has brought life back to Manchester.”
Faye is taking her brother to the One Love Manchester benefit concert because she believes he ‘saved’ her on the night of the bomb.
