Coronation Street actor Mikey North thinks Gary's time could be up soon...
Coronation Street star Mikey North has dropped a big hint that Gary Windass could be bumped off – and new baddie Rick Neelan may be the killer.
The 32-year-old actor, who plays Gary, hinted that his character could soon be set to meet his maker, especially given the terrible track record of Platt men!
Talking to The Sun Online, Gary said: “I’ve always said, the amount of Platt’s boyfriends and husbands that have died, it’s probably got to be me next, but I’ve had a good run!.”
And the most likely candidate to murder Gary has to be horrible loan shark Rick Neelan, who could become the new Pat Phelan.
Mikey said: “I quite like the character Rick, the way he’s written, it’s almost like the likeable scary bad guy.
“He’s got some pretty decent one liners whereas Pat was pretty much bad through and through, so I think there’s a bit more to like about Rick, but I wouldn’t mess with him.
Gary’s woes are mounting up because of course he’s also still in the frame for the factory roof collapse. He also could be placing Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) in big danger. Next week, Gary breaks the news to her that he’s borrowed money from a loan shark and he’s now lost absolutely everything, even his van.
If Sarah decides to take on Rick, she could end up getting murdered herself! Mikey added that Gary wouldn’t be much help if things came to the crunch. “I don’t think anyone can protect anyone from Rick, he’s pretty ruthless. I think Gary fancies himself as being quite handy, but Rick’s a different level and kinda even puts Gary in his place.”
So, will Gary be bumped off?
Coronation Street continues on ITV.
